Toddler Free Time at the Galgorm resort and Spa

Feeling tired and weary from running around after those small people? Fulltime work and motherhood taking its toll? I was absolutely delighted (and more than ready) when the opportunity for some much needed relaxation arose. A day at Galgorm resort and spa sounded just the ticket to stop, take a breath and refresh. So my good friend Laura Ann and I set off…

Our day commenced with Afternoon tea (right up our street,) in the splendid setting of the River room Conservatory. The luxurious style setting could not be more perfect, light, opulent and surrounded by stunning views of the River Maine. The service was fabulous, the lovely staff  looked after us, and to begin the waitress started by talking us through the extensive menu. A selection of truly wonderful treats ranging from your classic scone to delicate miniature desserts, you can tell the chefs have a real passion for their profession. We made our decisions and the food was out promptly, so we didn’t waste any time getting stuck in. Eating in peace is a real luxury being a mother, so we spent a few hours enjoying the outstanding delicacies, taking in the fabulous surroundings and enjoying copious amounts of WARM CAFFEINE .

Following our Afternoon Tea, we rolled towards the spa. After changing into our swimwear we were led to the Thermal Village, apparently the first of its kind in Ireland. I had been before, a few years ago but cannot believe the work that has been done. Set amongst lush parkland, you truly have the chance to relax. The selection of facilities range from the standard Jaccuzzi pool, hot tub, infinity hydrotherapy pool and they even have a snow cabin!!! Literally fantastic and truthfully fascinating, I could honestly spend all day just lounging around listening to the tranquil music and using the various amenities.  You can even just pay to use these facilities without having a treatment….I will be availing to this some time soon!!

After an hour of unwinding we were invited for our treatments, I Chose the BioEffects EGF facial treatment. Galgorm spa is one of the only spas in Ireland to Carry the BIOEFFECTS brand so I was excited to see what was different. Hannah was my therapist and she was fantastic, explaining all about the EGF facial and how it combines various natural elements, basalt, marble stones and metamorphic crystals.  The aim of it is to totally relax you while stimulating your skin cells to repair, renew and rejuvenate the skin.  I can vouch for that, following the facial my skin had a natural glow, it looked rosy and alive! I was totally relaxed and could have stayed there all day!  I even ended up buying the daytime moisturiser  as I honestly have never had my skin feel better.

The whole Experience was truly fabulous. The Galgorm resort is a must visit destination, because that’s what it is..A Destination. The staff, the surroundings, the facilities all make for a truly memorable day. You can come for a family meal or treat someone special with a fine dining experience. It caters for everyone but in the most superb way!

It was exactly what I needed after a rough week.
