Hello All 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
I think it’s about time I tell you all a bit about myself. I mean I could obviously write allot…but in the interests of not boring you all to tears I’ll keep it short and throw in a few funny anecdotes along the way!
My Name is Rita Marie, yes both actual names together-age 31 and I work in freight sales for a large ferry operator, very glam! (This is NOT the funny bits)
Ive been married 5 years to my Husband Colin and we met while we worked in a call centre just after I finished university. It’s a good job I didn’t marry him for his fashion sense-as the first time I met him he was wearing ripped Skater jeans, a washed out tshirt, flip flops….and an anklet….yes really, a flipping ANKLET! So I can verify…it wasn’t love at first site but he certainly makes me laugh!
I’m a farmers daughter, probably the worst kind, first off as child I hated milk & potatoes. I also have severe allergies to horse and cows hair, I swell up like Quasimodo! So all my sisters got to ride horses, while I sat and watched with a dust mask on! Funny eh..
Despite being useless on a farm, I was always quite a tomboy growing up; I played football, built dens from pallets (complete with flowerbeds) and basically lived in a boiler suit. Though I enjoyed fashion, by that I mean I enjoyed cutting chunks out of my clothes to make my dolls new clothes. My mum was always elated when she got out my Sunday best to realise i’d cut a huge hole in the back.
Growing up was great, I was the oldest of four girls and later after my dad got remarried he added two boys. So a grand total of 6 of us and I was the boss! It was great because I always seemed to have someone to blame..especially when at age 11 I stuffed some tissue in my ear and couldn’t get it back out. When my mum asked what the hell I was thinking I simply answered ‘Catherine was trying to clean my ear out.’ To this day Catherine cannot believe she got the blame.
My biggest achievement is my son Freddie and I guess this current pregnancy too. Despite being a tomboy I always knew I would be a mum so when he came along I was elated. Also I felt pretty prepared as I was the oldest of a huge family, we were always surrounded by babies. Until day four of having Freddie home, we decided to venture out to Mothercare. Picture this, my husband carrying a car seat ATTACHED to the ISOFIX complaining about how heavy it was….and neither of us were none the wiser! It wasn’t until a kind lady came and told us we were supposed to detach the seat from the base that we realised how ridiculous we had been! 🙈 I’ll lodge that under sleep deprivation!!
If you’re still reading at this point…I salute you! 💁🏼 I started blogging this year, I’ve been on Instagram a while longer. It took some convincing from my friend Laura Ann to begin blogging, in fact we both egged each other on! Here I am 8 months later and I actually quite enjoy it! I see it as a creative outlet and an extension to my Instagram!
Anyhow I intend to blog allot more this year, part of a New Years resolution and the realisation that you get out what you put in – so don’t forget to Subscribe & I promise they won’t all be this long!! 💕
